Paper Check Guarantee This is the traditional form of Check Guarantee. The merchant slides a check through the reader. If the check bounces a claim is processed and the amount of the bounced check is guaranteed. Electronic Check Conversion Check Conversion converts a paper check into an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) which is deposited automatically into the merchant account. With ECC check handling is more like a credit card - The merchant does not have to deposit checks at the bank. Conversion would require a check ‘imager’ such as the Ingenico 2600 which actually takes a picture of the check and stores the image. |

The rate is similar to that for a credit card, that is 1.85% of the value of the check. There is a minimum for check services of $25/month. Statements are $10/month. |
